What is an Inter-Cultural Communications Officer?
*not required to be bilingual in Korean and English
-once a month, organizes cultural events (such as city bus tours, cultural exchanges, or Korean-English tutoring sessions) to educate the Korean community about foriegn cultures or the foreigner community about Korean culture
-oversees all translation needs of the Local Council and assists with the translation needs of the National Committees by managing a pool of volunteer translators
-oversees the development of cultural understanding for foreign teachers in both the workplace and society at the local level
-helps create permanent content each month for the website, newsletter and guide book based on Korean culture and history at the local level (the focus will be on the Korean National Tourism Organization (KNTO) & UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Korea discussing the services available from the KNTO and the importance of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites)
-officers from each PMA will serve on the Inter-Cultural Committee nationally and specialize in one of several roles
