Membership Officers
Membership Officers are an extremely important, but low-profile part of ATEK. Some people join volunteer groups for the attention or the glory, but not everyone likes the spotlight. If you prefer keeping a low profile, but want to serve an important supporting role in the organization; if you are organized, meticulous, and have an eye for detail; if the quiet management of a big responsibility is down your alley; if integrity and ethics is very important to you, think about becoming a Membership Officer.
Membership officers are in charge of updating, verifying, and managing ATEK’s membership lists. Dealing with members’ private information is a big responsibility, and the duty to protect members’ privacy ethically, with integrity, in keeping with ATEK’s guidelines and bylaws is a crucial part of this role. ATEK's legitimacy as an organization depends on Membership Officers' doing their jobs diligently, accurately, and ethically.

The National Membership Officer
The National Membership Officer serves on the National Executive council. (atek.or.kr/ne) When people want to become associate or general members of ATEK, the National Membership Officer is in charge of verifying their membership, and collecting and managing that data.
The National Membership Officer also verifies voting for national and local positions by checking that voters are general members of the association when they vote, and sends out messages to the entire membership.
What’s required?
You need to be computer literate, and comfortable using with Google Docs, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
It’s also helpful if you’re familiar with other shared data management tools, for example, VB Scripts and Macros, Visio, Process/Data Flow Diagrams.

The Local Membership Officer
Local Membership Officers manage membership data for their local association, distribute messages to members on behalf of local officers, protect local members' personal information, and provide support for the National Membership Officer. Local Membership Officers report directly to the National Membership Officer, and their duty to the National Membership Officer takes priority over their work inside their local PMA.
Like the National Membership Officer, local Membership Officers should be highly ethical, valuing integrity and correct procedure: protecting the confidential information of members is one of this roles’ main responsibilities. They should also be very detail-oriented and comfortable following established procedures. A good membership officer gives the National Membership Officer feedback on how to improve the information system.
Excel and experience with Excel is required; training will be provided if necessary. Outlook and experience with Outlook is preferred.
*The Membership Chair role also serves on the National Council. In order to serve as the Committee Chair, you must be elected by the other officers on your commitee. Please email go to atek.or.kr/elections to initiate the elections process.
